MGB Rust Repair and Welding Seminar - December 4-5, 2009
Day 1 of our December MGB Rust Repair and Welding Seminar started with West Michigan's first significant snowfall of the year. While a couple of our students were delayed slightly nobody got stuck somewhere they shouldn't have! This class includes students from Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Pennsylvania.
Day 1 begins with basic welding discussions, talk about tools and - after lunch - welding practice sessions. Day 1 focuses on basic skills like being able to see, welding on the line and lap-welding joints together.
Day 2 continues the welding discussions and practice sessions. It also brings practical applications into the fold with demonstrations on fitting various parts to our example car (in this case, a rusty 1978 MGB). With the outer rocker removed and the rusty sections of the dogleg cut away the class is shown how to fit the new rocker cover and weld the repair panels in position for a high-quality repair.
