This 1971 E-Type had been stored in a real barn (not a pole barn) in Ann Arbor since about 1992. Carl made a trip to look the car over and deem it worth saving, then it was loaded on a flat bed and brought to Eclectic.

The car was very dirty and had some unfortunate rodent damage on the passenger seat, but cleaned up very well with a power wash and some soap.

It’s a very untouched, original car with one repaint. While scruffy, it’s hard to find cars this nice anymore. Too often, shoddy restoration or repairs have to be undone. This car didn’t suffer any of that kind of work.

The car is very solid, with only a small hole in the floor and a few small holes in the fronts of the rocker panels. This sticker makes us believe it had California history before coming to Michigan.

This car has some more great history with these stickers.

It’s always fun to see what you find in the glovebox and console. This matchbook is a part of Ann Arbor’s legacy.
