This Datsun 280Z is with us to get safely running and driving again. At some point in its past, someone removed the factory fuel injection wiring and converted the car to Megasquirt. While we have a lot of experience with Megasquirt, we feel it will be better to reinstall the factory system in this case. We’ll also be replacing much of the rubber components (hoses, brake lines, etc.) as we do with most cars that have been out of service for some time. We started the work with our comprehensive 4 hour inspection and gave the owner a detailed assessment of the car that we used to make a plan to get it back on the road.



The wiring used poor quality and incorrect styles of connectors, did not have clear color coding (and many wires were the same color), and was poorly connected to the factory wiring.


We found a good used engine wiring harness, ECU, and distributor for the car to bring the car back to roadworthiness.
